Information Literacy & Library Engagement: Action Research: AY 2015-2016

Pre- and Post-Surveys/Tests

The University of Redlands First Year Student Research Practices Survey was adapted (questions # 3, 9) from HEDS/NITLE Research Practices Survey and (questions # 4-6, 10-11 ) from Information Literacy Assessment & Advocacy (ILAAP) Question Bank.  The remainder of the survey (questions #1-2, 7-8, 12) were developed in-house by the Armacost Library faculty librarians. 

The Fall 2015 version of the First Year Student Research Practices Survey  has been revised from the first and second years, Fall 2013 and 2014, with fewer questions to enable more manageable and sustainable administration and analysis.  The Fall 2015 version incorporates the ILAAP questions, which we found to be clearer and more concise.

Both the 2007 HEDS/NITLE survey and the ILAAP Question Bank have been licensed under a Creative Commons  Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license.

Do recursive information literacy practices lead to more successful information skills?
