Final Paper
Your second assignment is to develop an annotated bibliography with a minimum of seven scholarly sources. These should be journal articles, book chapters, or books that have been peer reviewed and present theoretical or empirical contributions to your research question. You will likely also need to include some non-scholarly work to illustrate your research, but that does not need to be in this annotated bibliography. Key components:
- Seven sources with full references in ASA format
- A brief summary of the key contributions of the piece. No quotes
- An explanation of how this connects to your research question and why it is important
- Any key quotes or findings that you can pull out of the article
This is due Friday, March 21st by 5pm
- Create an original library research paper addressing your research question through scholarly research.
- Your paper should be 8-10 pages double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12pt (NOT INCLUDING REFERENCES PAGES)
- You should introduce and develop the importance of your research question
- Summarize the relevant literature and develop key arguments
- Suggest future directions for research and offer implications for society more broadly
- There is ample advice provided for how to write a library research paper posted to Canvas from Smith-Lovin and Moskovitz (2017). I strongly encourage you to read the chapters posted and refer back to them as your write your paper.
A complete rough draft of your paper is due in class on April 2nd for peer review. You may also submit a rough draft to me, but you need to allow at least 4 days for me to read and review the draft.
Your final draft is due Sunday, April 20th by 5pm
