I’ve taken an unconventional path to librarianship—first performing on international stages as a symphony musician in South America, then navigating the world of finance with a Series 7 brokerage license. Each chapter honed my creativity, discipline, and ability to connect with people across cultures. As a librarian now for almost 20 years, those same skills drive my mission: empowering students, faculty, and communities to navigate today’s complex information landscape with care, confidence, and clarity.

We’re living in a moment where misinformation shapes public discourse and AI tech carry profound implications—especially for marginalized populations. In this context, information literacy isn’t just relevant; it’s essential. For me, diversity, equity, and inclusion are not side notes but the very heart of how I approach teaching, learning, and research.

As an educator, workshop facilitator, and consultant, I design and deliver dynamic learning experiences grounded in critical pedagogy and social justice principles like Design Justice—inviting participants to question, challenge, and create. My work bridges scholarship and practice, helping individuals and organizations foster original, equity-centered approaches to understanding and using information.
