Consult with a Librarian
As technology transforms the world of publishing, new opportunities and responsibilities arise for producers and users of information. As you prepare to exercise your rights as a creator, consult with a librarian who can:
- Help you understand your rights and responsibilities as an information producer
- Help you understand your rights and responsibilities as an information user
- Guide you through processes that help determine whether publishing agreements permit you to upload work to InSPIRe
- Help you interpret the language in publishing agreements
- Help enable you to retain or regain your rights
- Collaborate with you to educate your students about social, economic, legal, and ethical issues relevant to them as information producers/users
In some cases you may need to consult with a lawyer. Librarians offer expertise as information professionals, but are not able to offer legal advice.
