Zotero: A Guide on Getting Started: 7. Shared Group Libraries

This Zotero guide will walk you through the basics of installing and using Zotero, a free citation management software.

Steps for Creating Shared Groups

1. Go to

2. Click on Create a New Group.

3. Name your Group and choose your Group Type (public or private).

4. Choose your reading/viewing and editing preferences. Save your settings!

5. If you chose a private or public/closed membership group, you can invite people to join via email under "Member Settings." 

Note: Your Group Library will be separate from your main Zotero Library.
